Mark Woof | Valley Simsbury Pastor

Mark has been active in full-time ministry for 17 years, serving the first 14 in student ministry. He believes church is people more than place — a spiritual family more than a weekend event. He’s married to Janet and they have four awesome kids – Hailey, Hannah, Hunter, and Harper.

Mark loves to gather together and grow with other dads, coach high school football (go Trojans!), ski and tube with his kids, and serve our community with his wife. His most crazy memories are driving in demolition derby and getting 200 stitches after smashing through a glass door.

When all is said and done, he hopes he’ll be remembered as a down-to-earth guy — someone who followed hard after Jesus, led many to become disciples, and attained status as a superstar husband and all-star dad.

Benji Wagner | Communications Assistant

Benji moved here from France about three years ago. He joined Valley Simsbury on staff in September of 2017. In charge of everything visual at VS, Benji has a heart to communicate the Gospel in a creative and relevant way. He’s passionate about good coffee, the arts and travel.

Jillian Conway | Childrens Ministry Associate

Jillian has been part of Valley Simsbury’s ministry team since May of 2018, serving as the Children’s Ministry Associate. She is married to her childhood sweetheart, Jason, and is currently working toward earning her degree in Christian Counseling with a minor in Parenting and Child/Adolescent development.

Prior and concurrently to this role, she works with children of all different ages, in various different life stages, work as an ABA therapist, and volunteer opportunities. Her passion is working with children, and she loves that she is able to share God’s love and wisdom with the next generation.

Jillian and her husband love to travel and spend time with close friends and those in their community.  Jillian is looking forward to what God has in store for her little family, and is excited to see how He will use her as she finishes her schooling to be a therapist.

Elena Thornton | Intern

Elena has been attending Valley for five years, having served on the worship team and in children’s ministry. She is a recent high school graduate pursuing full time ministry, life on mission, and she is passionate about sharing the gospel in unreached places. To prepare for her ministry calling, Elena is serving as an intern with Valley Simsbury.

Elena loves spending time outdoors, traveling, and gathering with friends and family for times of fellowship. She is excited to strengthen her spiritual gifts and to see the Spirit of God at work in the lives of others through discipleship and fellowship.
